This just goes to show how a working smart pays more than working hard.
I had always dreamed of working in the fashion industry. Would I own a
high fashion boutique? Maybe design luxurious attire for a widely known company
like BCBG, even Chanel? Or, even better,
work as an assistant to some dragon lady like the young, naïve, optimist Anne
Hathaway played in the hit movie The
Devil Wears Prada. There were so many avenues to this industry my young
ambitious mind could hardly fathom the amount of endless opportunity. How many
Stars would I meet? Who would intern with? And where? So many questions, that
all stemmed from seeing the choice of Fashion Design as an elective on my
choice of next years courses while I was in high school.
A slight change in direction can take you so far off course. That is the
lesson I learn after completing high school, and with the spirit procrastination
led me to not getting into the design school of my dreams. To take up another
trade I chose Cosmetology as a career. Not to say that I was only settling
because, the beauty industry was thriving just as well as fashion and, I
actually worked in a handful prestigious Salons, where I learned that my
attitude needed to be adjusted a tad bit before I could truly gain success in
any career field. As I learned from some of whom I feel were the hardest
workers in the hair business I realized that, even though I made plenty of
cash, (and I do mean plenty), had a numerous amount of clients, was continually
growing my business is that slaving behind a salon chair was not going to build
the kind of business that I envisioned for myself. Now don’t get me wrong, I do
miss the “right now” payout endured through salon services.
The assembly of The Beauty House has been one of the most endearing business
adventures, yet. This production company has an array of services, from:
hairstyling, and photography, to casting jobs and more. I am excited to let you
all know that we have merged with Chris Ellington’s photography, to ensure the
highest quality services for all new and existing clients. Working with labels
such as Knaughty Kouture, and Joshotography has been a great experience, and we
have been growing to incorporate more companies unto our roster. Stay tuned for
the latest updates, and fashion fixes, as we take leaping bounds into this industry!!!
